The Endoscopic Vision Challenge

We are thrilled to announce that Jonas Hajek, Software Developer R&D at RIWOlink GmbH, has won one of the Endoscopic Vision Challenges at the MICCAI Conference 2023.

Jonas demonstrated his talent in machine learning by winning the Surgical Instrument Multi-Domain Segmentation Challenge.

This involved training a deep learning algorithm on multi-domain data to create segmentation masks that would identify different surgical instruments by type and part.

Hajek's work was recognized as the best in all four sub-tasks, ranked according to domain-aware / domain-unaware type and parts segmentation.
